Sundance Institute and The Metroplex launched the first Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition to enthusiastic response last year, with participants showing tremendous talent and potential. The jury award winner, Trumpet Man, was screened at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Director Emily Wong attended the festival to meet international audiences and fellow filmmakers from around the world.
This year's short film submissions continue to display the range and creativity of our local talents, from intense drama and heart-warming documentaries to quirky animations, all showcasing their unique vision and voice. Our Jury Panel from U.S. and Hong Kong will deliberate and selected short films will be screened at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong.
Official lineup will be announced at the Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Opening Party on September 21, followed by the Short Film Competition Awards Ceremony. Please stay tuned at this website for more updates.
