The film opens to eight men eating breakfast at a diner. They were perfect strangers, assembled to pull off the perfect crime. Then their simple robbery explodes into a bloody ambush and the ruthless killers realize one of them is a police informant. But which one? Featuring Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Chris Penn, Lawrence Tierney, Tim Roth, Tarantino, and criminal-turned-author Edward Bunker as members of a botched diamond heist, the film depicts the events before and after the heist. It incorporates many themes that have become Tarantino's hallmarks: violent crime, pop culture references, profanity, and nonlinear storytelling.
With his vibrant imagination and dedication to richly layered storytelling, writer and director Quentin Tarantino is one of the most celebrated filmmakers of his generation.
